As many of you know, because I will not shut up about it, my debut YA novel Neverland, is out in April next year (!!!). I’ve spent the past few months working with Penguin Random House editors Zoe Walton and Mary Verney to take the manuscript to the next level, but until very recently it hadn’t sunk in that Neverland is going to be a real book.
The reason it hasn’t felt real is that until now the manuscript has still been a Word.doc and I can count on my hands the number of people who’ve read it. But that’s about to change. ARCs are going out soon, and last week, I saw the typeset pages for the first time. I’m proofreading them at the moment and it’s uncanny seeing the story looking so bookish.
But the thing that’s made it feel really real is that Neverland now has a cover!!! And, ohmigod, you guys, it’s *gorgeous*. Behold:
It was designed by Christa Moffitt, with illustrations by Eveline Tarunadjaja, and I could never in a million years have dreamed of something that so perfectly suits the story. THANK YOU, YOU AMAZINGLY TALENTED HUMANS!!!
Neverland is up on Goodreads and also available for pre-order on the Penguin Random House Australia website #JustSaying. They’ve put up a lovely little blurb too so you can find out a bit more about the story!
*Cannot wait* to share the finished book with you all in April!
