A big hello to the weekend! What an utterly dismal week it’s been. We can’t seem to go outside without getting drenched, though all the rain has given us the perfect excuse to stay home and read.
First up for review this week was Scarlett Thomas’s much anticipated new book, The Seed Collectors: a brain-bending read about botany, desire and forbidden fruit. Then we gathered our wits about us and settled down with Ruth Ware’s chilling debut thriller, In a Dark, Dark Wood.
We also caught up with fellow reviewers The Book Kat and Emily of emsview to chat about their reviewing style, what they love to read and what books they recommend you add to your TBR pile.
Also, as a Kobo affiliate, we’re letting you know that they are currently running a great deal where you can buy two eBooks and get one free, valid August 21-24. If you’re low on reading material, GET ON IT.
This weekend we’re curling up with Lauren Groff’s Fates and Furies, which, if the opening pages are anything to go by, is going to be pretty incredible. More on that and many other bookish things next week. Until then, keep warm and have a fantabulous weekend!
