I’m ba-ack (finally)!

First off, and I’m sorry this is a little late, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you all had a wonderful break and that you did actually get a break, if only for a few days, and that 2017 is filled with good times and great reads.

After I signed off in late November, the mister and I packed up all our belongings, put the fur babies on a plane and made the big move from Perth to Adelaide. We had just two weeks from the day he was offered his new job to the day we flew out. In that time, we found a house (no easy feat when you have two cats and a staffy), sorted, packed, had the movers in, booked flights, organised to have the car trucked over, pulled weeds, cleaned, found people who could clean better than us, had our mail redirected and I don’t even know what else, all while the mister was working twelve hour days. It was nuts.

Then it was Christmas. We somehow managed to get all our present buying done and settle into the new place by Chrissy Eve, then spent the following week binge watching Netflix in a shell-shocked daze, occasionally muttering, ‘Never ever again.’

Stress of the move aside, it’s wonderful to be home! We were away for more than five years, and while it was exciting and challenging to live in different cities, it’s even better to be back and to have family and old friends close by.

I’d hoped to get back to blogging in early Jan., and made some super ambitious plans for the month, but then the day the mister started his new job, we kinda, sorta went and bought a house. Specifically, this house:

As you can see, we’re pretty darn excited. But it also means that we’re on the move again. So while I’m back and itching to get stuck into the mounting pile of reviews I have to write, please forgive me if my posts are a little sporadic or I’m slow to respond to comments, etc.

Even though the past month or so has been a tad chaotic, I’ve still managed to squeeze in some fabulous books, including a few that have been languishing on my shelves for far too long, and I can’t wait to hear what you’ve all been reading! In fact, I’d love to know:

What was your favourite holiday read?

And:

What book(s) are you most excited for in 2017?
