TGiF: Weekly Wrap Up

Happy Friday, friends!

It’s been a great week of book talk here at Lectito. We kicked off by catching up with Natasha from Book Baristas, a most excellent site serving up ‘hot drinks and hotter reads’. Then we caught up with Aussie author, Fleur Ferris to chat about her debut YA novel, Risk (2015), which we reviewed a little while back.

Then it was on to more book reviews. Making the most of the final days of winter, we curled up with Susan Hill’s classic Gothic chiller, The Woman in Black (1983)—the perfect read for a dark and stormy night. After sleeping with the lights on, we delved into Karen Joy Fowler’s PEN/Faulkner Award winning and Man Booker Prize shortlisted We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves (2013), a smart read with a twist. Fans of unreliable narrators should add this one to their TBR pile.

Finally, for all the wordsmiths playing along, we found ten tricks to help kick writer’s block, because writer’s block is THE WORST.
